Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II

The design proposal is intended to address these issues by identifying some topics of intervention:

redefining the Historical Center reducing vehicular traffic elimination of parking areas valorization of the artistic / architectural heritage functional upgrading.
Architectural dialogue with the interventions of Arch. Viganò. The first response of the architectural project involves the reduction of vehicle traffic, currently intense and distributed in two lanes in the same direction, limiting the carriage by lowering it to a single lane, lowered by the pedestrian tread level.

The parking area is also removed, making the square an orderly and silent episodeof a pedestrian street. The square's surface is characterized by "terraces" that redesign small public spaces that relate to the adjacent commercial activities; they are able to accommodate events and recreate a "break" time by offering some wooden seats and shadow.

The intervention  aims to restore aspects that were already present in the past and wants to give the city and its inhabitants a new public space with its own identity, versatile and therefore able to welcome events and to strengthen the connection between important areas of Salò.
